Ice Storm Aftermath

While the Bub, Mom, and I stayed toasty with the lit furnace last night, the trees throughout the state park suffered.

Mom took a walk this morning to see what damage had occurred around the park and specifically at our evacuated site. She brought back pictures that made me exceedly grateful God had led her to move the Bub.

Two significant limbs had fallen right where the Bub had been parked.

I'm in awe of how the weather can bring down such strong branches. The ice builds slowly as the rain freezes when it lands. In a moment, the limb cracks and gives under its burden, granting anyone below only a moment's notice to get out of the way.

The sea is blue and grey now, the rain has stopped, and the ice has melted.

I'm thankful God has carried us out of the storm and that He's given us a new campsite, one free of overhanging trees.

Below are some more photos of damage about the park taken by my mom.

Safe and warm,
Janelle
