Today happens to be one of the most beautiful days I've ever seen. From our site in the woods, the sky looks like it's threatening to build its cotton candy clouds into a fortress of thunder and lightening. From the beach, it is dramatic collage of shifting blue and white, and the gaps in the shadows on the land and sea make the water a glistening cyan. The wind made too long a stroll uncomfortable, especially for me who has problems maintaining a consistent body temperature. But the salt air is healing to the lungs, however long we're out there.
That is, if the air isn't contaminated.
When the beach has many walkers on it, we have to dodge and stay upwind of them. About 98% of people carry toxins, whether mold or another sort, in their clothes and hair which we can sense. The toxins can travel on the wind; so even if we're a football field away from someone, given that the wind is right, we can smell the toxins drifting off them.
Thankfully, the beach was mostly empty today, and we were able to walk freely without a dodge.
On the return trip, however, as we took our exit off the beach, contamination carried by the land breeze hit my senses. It wasn't a heavy, there-is-no-oxygen-in-the-world dose, but it wasn't diluted enough.
So I walked back to the Bub looking like this.

| I am so grateful for this scarf, you have no idea. |
I'm not sure exactly what the source of it was, but my theory is someone had opened up their contaminated trailer on the other side of the hill, over a hundred yards away.
I'm still marveling at the precision of my nose.
Enjoying this lovely day,
Janelle

Beautiful...Aw, too bad about the toxins! The scarf fits you just marvelously. :D
ReplyDeleteWhen I try to explain your situation to others I say, "They're like bloodhounds. Only better." :0/
ReplyDeleteLovely writing, my dear!
